Course Overview

This 5-day interactive Maintenance Information Management training course is a comprehensive programme highlighting the importance and benefits of collecting and managing maintenance and reliability information. The participants will explore how effective information management aligns maintenance practices with organisational objectives and unlocks the value of assets. Throughout the programme, the participants will learn when and where maintenance information is critical within the asset’s life cycle, particularly within maintenance management functions. They will gain insights into the processes and tools for creating, collecting, and managing maintenance information while developing efficient data management techniques. The course covers various topics, including maintenance work management and data life cycle, asset life cycle and data requirements, failure catalogues, asset/equipment/materials classification, interoperability of data, FRACAS, bad actors, and RCFA. Participants will also explore structured and unstructured data, the utilisation of information in documents, and the integration of document management systems with maintenance information systems.

The participants will recognise the importance of collecting and managing maintenance information and data. They will understand the difference between information and data and gain the skills to manage data efficiently. Additionally, participants will become familiar with maintenance management systems, tools for creating and managing maintenance information, and the role of document management systems in supporting maintenance practices. It will equip maintenance and reliability management professionals with the knowledge and skills to optimise maintenance operations through effective information management and data-driven decision-making.
